SpaceX has successfully finish its 16th resupply mission launch and its Dragon payload ship is on its way to the International Space Station ( ISS ) on behalf of NASA . The ship is carry 2.5 loads   of supplies , experiments , and preparation for the astronauts .

“ It was an incredible launching , ” Joel Montalbano , NASA ’s deputy sheriff ISS program coach , articulate in astatement . “ This was the fourth launch in three weeks to the quad station . ”

A little mar on this launch was the rocket ’s re - entry and landing . The first point of the rocket was presuppose to secure an upright landing on the terra firma in Cape Canaveral , but a malfunction made it spin . Despite the issue , it made it all the way back to Earth and ended up in the Atlantic Ocean in one piece .

" Grid fin hydraulic pump drag one’s heels , so Falcon landed just out to sea . is likely undamaged and is transmitting data . Recovery ship dispatch , " SpaceX CEO Elon Musk suppose onTwitter . " Engines stabilized rocket spin just in time , enable an intact landing in water ! Ships en road to rescue Falcon . "

In a following tweet , Musk share an incredible telecasting of the rocket come near the airfoil of the sea and actually landing , before crashing sideways . This is the first failed landing place on solid ground by a SpaceX roquette . The late 12 were all successful . The fellowship has also landed rockets on automatize sea flatboat , a much trickier line , 20 times so far .

The launching had to be defer on Tuesday after it was discovered that a supplying of black eye food had gone moldy . mouse are being used on the ISS to investigate the core of microgravity on the resistant organisation .

Two of the science experiment currently being carried to the space station are in particular   interesting . The first is the Robotic Refueling Mission Phase 3 ( RRM3 ) , which will demonstrate the storage and transferee of cryogenic liquid in blank space . RRM3 will see the first ever transfer of cryo - fluid ( liquid methane ) in outer space . This investigation will be critical for actuation and life support systems in celestial orbit .

The second is the Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation or GEDI . The experimentation will make gamy - caliber optical maser ranging observations of Earth ’s forests and topography . scientist expect to learn a lot more about the carbon and water Hz   with the information collected using this cat’s-paw .
