Simu Liubrought romance to the2024 Oscars, where he had a date night on the red carpet with girlfriendAllison Hsu.
The couple looked perfect together, with both rocking monochrome looks. Liu, 34, wore all black while Hsu stepped out in all white.
The actor wore a Fendi look — which he described as a “beautiful getup” onLive from E!: The Oscarsred carpet pre-show — that consisted of a black suit jacket and black trousers with an eye-catching silver broach.
“It’s a fun situation and I like broaches,” Liu toldE! Newshost Laverne Cox of the eclectic detail.
His girlfriend looked regal in a strapless white Antonio Grimaldi couture gown with a lengthy train, and the couple posed with their hands interlinked as they walked the red carpet together.
The actor’s latest project,Barbie, isnominated for eight Academy Awards at Sunday’s ceremony, including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Liu and Hsu, meanwhile,went public with their romancein the fall of 2022, and Sunday night’s date night at the Oscars marks the latest in a string of joint red carpet appearances from the couple.
The Marvel star told PEOPLE for this year’s Sexiest Man Alive issue that his relationship with Hsu, a marketing director, has made him “tremendously happy” — and has also brought him a sense of security.
“I think everyone knows the feeling of being in a situation where they’re not fully happy, and then all of a sudden for that to change … it’s such a breath of relief,” he said. “It’s this feeling of ‘Oh, right, it does exist.’ You start to feel like, okay, maybe I’ve just been conditioned to want something that doesn’t exist or I have unrealistic expectations.”
He continued of Hsu, “I feel challenged and loved and cared for, and I feel championed. I think the best, healthiest relationships are ones where you have each other’s back, and I definitely feel like that’s the case.”

“She’s really taught me that you have to fight for the time with the people that you love, she’s really taught me that you need to be intentional and tend to each and every one of the relationships that matter to you,” he continued.
