One go around fan theory that ’s gathering some steam purport to call the fate of Westeros ’s sleazy operator , Petyr Baelish , a.k.a . Littlefinger , in the next season . It all revolves around an unlikely competition : Sandor Clegane ( The Hound ) , whose connection to Baelish stretches back to the show ’s first time of year .
The theory , asreported byTIMEand courtesy ofredditor Flay_the_pope , centers on one of the show ’s early betrayal . In the first time of year , after Ned Stark describe that Joffrey is not Robert Baratheon ’s legitimate boy — and therefore has no claim to the Iron Throne — Littlefinger anticipate to aid Ned secure the support of the City Watch to represent a coup d’etat . Instead , Ned is arrested for treason and , as the City Watch slaughters his men , Baelish puts a dagger to Ned ’s pharynx and , with a grinning , says , “ I did warn you not to hope me . ”
The Starks never found out about Littlefinger ’s perfidy , but one newfound Stark allywasin the way to witness it : Sandor Clegane . As the serial publication has progressed , The Hound has built personal relationships with both Arya and Sansa Stark . In the season four finis , Arya admitted that she read The Hound off of her kill tilt , and he by and by offered to escort Sansa home to Winterfell . When we last saw The Hound , he was traveling northerly with the Brotherhood Without standard — putting him in good order on track to run into one or both of the Stark sisters at Winterfell .
That could pose a trouble for Littlefinger , who is currently acting as an advisor to Sansa . “ I believe if Littlefinger , Sansa , and Sandor all terminate up in the same elbow room , Littlefinger will be in BIG fuss and this may be his downfall , ” Flay_the_pope writes .
