Friends are remembering a man whowent missing last week following an apparent shark attacknear Point Reyes National Seashore in California.
N’jai was in the water near Wildcat Beach last week while celebrating a wedding, according to his friends. The National Park Service has since confirmed in a release that he was reported missing Sunday morning at 10:20 a.m. after swimming with friends, noting that “a shark was seen but an attack has not been confirmed.”
N’jai is the CEO of tech incubator Eniac Labs, according to his LinkedIn.
TheSan Francisco Chroniclereported that he came to the U.S. to study computer engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, and would kite surf in both San Fransisco and Oregon every summer. He was even training to compete for Gambia in theParis 2024 Olympics, friends told the outlets.

NPRS, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, and Marin County Fire Department began a search and rescue mission for the missing man over the weekend, perThe Mercury News.
Swimming is generally discouraged in the rough waters off the coast of Marin County, although shark attacks in the area are rare, authorities said.

“We’re all trying to emulate a little more Felix into our life — be a little bit more compassionate and loving toward people,” friend Steve Bodner added while speaking with theChronicle. “Oftentimes, I wanted to give up and I saw Felix and continued to do it and he was a real mentor.”
