RiverdaleandBeverly Hills, 90210actorLuke Perryhas died at age 52, PEOPLE confirms.
Perry was hospitalized after suffering a stroke on Feb. 27 after paramedics were dispatched to his home in Sherman Oaks, California. A source tells PEOPLE henever regained consciousness.
The actor remained “under observation” for five days but died on Monday, March 4.

The same day that Perry was rushed to the hospital, Fox announced a reboot of the teen drama series which shot Perry to fame.
Although his original costarsJason Priestley,Jennie Garth,Brian Austin Green,Tori SpellingandIan Zieringall signed on to the new project, Perry did not.
The actor’s film credits includeBuffy the Vampire Slayer,8 Seconds and The Fifth Element. He also appeared on sitcoms includingWill & GraceandSpin City.

Perry wed Rachel “Minnie” Sharp in 1993, but they split 2003. Since their divorce, the couple has shared joint custody ofson Jack, 21,and 18-year-old daughter Sophie.
In lieu of flowers, the Perry family ask that donations be made toFight Colorectal Cancerand St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
