The “Toxic” singer dropped some bombshells about their previous relationship in her memoirThe Woman in Mewhich has putthe spotlight on Timberlake’s alleged past behavior, includingallegations that he cheatedon the pop star. (In her memoir, Spears also confirms thatshe kissed choreographer Wade Robsonwhile she was still dating Timberlake.)

In the chapterrevealing the pregnancy and abortion, she wrote:
“It was important that no one find out about the pregnancy or the abortion, which meant doing everything at home,” Spears said. “We didn’t even tell my family. The only person who knew besides Justin and me was Felicia [Culotta, Spears' former assistant], who was always on hand to help me. I was told, ‘It might hurt a little bit, but you’ll be fine.'”
She continued recounting the experience, “On the appointed day, with only Felicia and Justin there, I took the little pills. Soon I started having excruciating cramps. I went into the bathroom and stayed there for hours, lying on the floor, sobbing and screaming.”
In the book, Spears recalled Timberlake, now 42,tried to comfort her.
“Justin came into the bathroom and lay on the floor with me,” she wrote. “At some point he thought maybe music would help, so he got his guitar and he lay there with me strumming it.”

However, he has expressed regret for his past behavior and shared support for Spears as she sought to end her 13-year conservatorship.
In February 2021, Timberlake shared a lengthy Instagram postapologizing for his past behaviortowards both Spears andJanet Jackson. “I understand that I fell short in these moments and in many others and benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism. I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed," he wrote.
That same year, he posted on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, in support ofSpears' 13-year conservatorship being ended. It wasofficially terminated in November 2021.
“We should all be supporting Britney at this time. Regardless of our past, good and bad, and no matter how long ago it was… what’s happening to her is just not right,” he wrote on X at the time. “No woman should ever be restricted from making decisions about her own body. No one should EVER be held against their will… or ever have to ask permission to access everything they’ve worked so hard for.”

“It is finally time for me to raise my voice and speak out, and my fans deserve to hear it directly from me. No more conspiracy, no more lies — just me owning my past, present and future.”
