Jenna Bush Hager’s household grew over the holidays.
On Wednesday’s episode ofToday with Hoda and Jenna, themother of threerevealed that she got a new kitten for Christmas as a gift for her younger daughter,Poppy.
The male cat, Mr. Mango Mellow, joins the Hager family’s other cat,Hollywood. The first feline came homelast Christmas.

In addition to Poppy, 8, andMila, 10, Bush Hager is also mom to sonHal, 4.
TheTodaystar has previously been open about her love for felines — and her cat allergy. “I took an extra Zyrtec, and everything’s all good,” she told Kotb on Wednesday.

But with two cats now and Bush Hager’s recent recreation ofTaylor Swift’s cat-centricTimecover, Kotb was curious when Bush Hager stepped into “cat lady” territory.
“I think I’m there, and I’m comfortable standing there,” Bush Hager said proudly. “I feel good with my feet on the ground. I feel happy being who I am.”
“As a little girl, I loved cats so much. They were the forbidden fruit ‘cause I was highly allergic,” she continued, noting that her mother — former first ladyLaura Bush— had a cat named Dewey after the Dewey Decimal System (a nod to her role as a librarian). “From the time we were born, we had a cat. And I would just sit there, sucking my thumb with my eyes swollen shut ‘cause I’m highly allergic. And I don’t care.”
“So here we are,” Bush Hager laughed.
