you may tell apart that Tim Kring , Lord of mega - mutant max Heroes , was over-correct in a big manner last night . In the exciting two - hour premiere , he proved to the world that he can make his scenes smaller , shorter , and faster than anybody else ’s scenes . No more of those long , dreary trips to Feudal Japan like last season . This season start with scene so bursty and brief they made YouTube vids look leisurely . The time - travel freakout plot that make mutant computer virus mania was practically inexplicable ( a perennial risk with time travel plots ) , but still fun in a wham - out , eighties DC Comics way . Plus , everybody ’s getting set . Spoilers ahead ! Kring and Co. are make things half-baked this season by bear many of the characters switch English , blurring the occupation between “ fighter ” and “ villain . ” Of all the weird ways this pinch might have go , in all likelihood the most intriguing involve the impeccably - accented scientist Suresh Mohinder and evil brainpower - absorber Sylar . Last nighttime saw the start of both their transformation . Mohinder has used the perennially unenlightened but lethal Maya ’s stemma to whip up a blood serum that could provide anyone to gain mutant power instantly . The key turns out to be more simulated science to do with the “ mind - body connection via neuro pathways ” and “ adrenal glands . ” Basically , superpowers are Hulk - like : They are activated by fear and rage . Of course , mutant - wannabe Mohinder immediately inject himself , inexplicably choosing to do it on an abandoned dock instead of in his science lab . But this allow him to go through his sweaty , shirtless transformation in a position of risk , where he can quickly beat up some muggers and squelch their artillery into pulp . Upon render to the lab , Mohinder ’s next move is to have mutant - power sex with Maya ( we can only simulate she does it because she ’s hoping his next blood serum will cure her ) . As you could see in the scene above , the Mohinder transformation is an almost fritter - for - jibe refreshment of a similar scene in The Fly , right down to mainline sugary drinks and climb the walls before raging sex . ( after , Mohinder finds sharp things and gooey tinker’s dam come out of his back , also a reference to The Fly . ) What we ’re witnessing here , away from a much - needed dose of Mohinder ’s turned on side , is the good scientist ’s shift into a mad one . And , for anyone who watched The 4400 , the “ serum ” will voice a lot like Promicin , that show ’s mutant - qualification , superpower - create serum . Mohinder ’s translation has also demonstrated that the awful “ evolution and fate ” voiceovers that he ’d been doing can actually be worse . I make love , it ’s surd to conceive it could get sorry than last season ’s mystical role player - science blecch . But last night , he really take an ENTIRE FUCKING YEATS POEM in voiceover . You recognize , the one about “ thing devolve aside ” that every minor reads in in high spirits schoolhouse ? At least he could have had the decency to read “ Leda and the Swan , ” given the hot mutant sex theme . Just josh ! I do n’t want more poetry , and I do n’t want more Mohinder voice over ! DO NOT WANT ! ! ! Sylar , meanwhile , is on the route to chaotic good . First , he steal Claire ’s super - remedial powers in a genuinely troubling picture where he literally stroke and drools on her brain while she lies immobile on a table . We discover that she ca n’t be killed — and now , neither can he . But , towards the end of the episode , Sylar is consecrate a hazard to work for the ( sort of ) in effect guy when he ’s recaptured by The Company , now being run by Mama Petrelli . turn out she ’s Mama to more than just Nathan and Peter — she ’s also Sylar ’s mama , and for some reason this information seems to move the normally - nonplussed grampus nerd . Speaking of killer nerds , I wish well Heroes get it on what to do with the once - delicious , now - nauseating Hiro . Somehow his biz executive baby is out of the depiction and he ’s running his dad ’s company , going on dumb missions to detect pieces of paper that contain “ serious expression . ” Unfortunately the whole Hiro plot has become one swelled awful convention , and his otaku act is getting really onetime . We require more of the badass future Hiro so that the terrific Masi Oka can progress beyond cuteface acting . And do n’t even get me commence on psychic cop Matt , transport to Africa by future Peter , who has just been rescued by a Magical Negro who lie among other “ African ” thing such as scorpions , snakes , and turtles . I bid they ’d just thrust some rhinos and Hippo in there too . Plus , some soft tribesman who are in touch with nature . That would really make the Magical African Journey subplot a complete line of latitude to Peter ’s wizard Irish Journey last season . Of course , the true weirdness of the episode had to do with Future Peter coming back to the present and shooting Nathan to prevent “ the dark future ” of oppressed sport being round up in concentration camps . Here ’s where it go dispiritedly tangle : Future Peter is now masquerading as Present Peter after having stuck the factual Present Peter into the soundbox of imprisoned mutant high-risk guy Jesse ( played by Weevil from Veronica Mars , yay ! ) . But then Linderman as if by magic appears to heal the shot Nathan , who find God . And Peter winds up setting in move a serial of event that chair to electrical energy - shooting Elle issue all the companionship ’s prisoner — let in Present Peter , in the dead body of Jesse , who is now hanging out with a clump of lameass escaped villains who like to burn sometime ladies for fun . Where is Present Peter ’s actual body ? No idea . Why does Mama Petrelli yell at Future Peter for fucking up the time to come , when in fact the future tense was going to be really atrocious anyway ? Also , unexplained . Why is Future Claire so pissed off , and has she peradventure dyed her hair ? I think we have a shot at figure that out , since the post - Sylar mental capacity surgery Claire now no longer palpate pain , which inexplicably makes her all emo about “ not feeling human . ” At least Claire ’s dad Bennet is back on the sheath , chase after down the guy wire who burned the onetime lady ( plus Present Peter in Jesse ’s organic structure ) . And we ’re in all likelihood going to ascertain out more about Claire ’s dyestuff job next week , when there will be more Future Claire , more Future Peter , and more . . . crisis on infinite timelines !
