Talking to Comic Book Resources about his upcoming work for DC Comics , Morrison enounce ,

I ’ve just been doing anEarth Fourbook , which is the Charlton persona but I ’ve decided to write it like “ Watchmen . ” [ laughs ] So it ’s publish backward and sideways and sate with all kinds of symbolization and because of that it ’s taking quite a recollective meter to write .

The “ Charlton persona ” that he mentions were the inspiration behind ( and the original theatrical role for ) Watchmen ; the Question , Peacemaker , Blue Beetle and Captain Atom ( AKA , respectively , Rorschach , the Comedian , Nite Owl and Dr. Manhattan ) .
