Enver Gjokaj played Victor ( and a whole bunch of other reference ) on Joss Whedon ’s much - missed show Dollhouse . Now he ’s follow in Whedon ’s footsteps , plunge a new webseries called Previously On Point Dume . He tell us it ’s “ Twin Peaks meets Clue . ”
Previously On Point Dume ’s first abbreviated video discernment will go online on Monday , via FunnyOrDie , but we generate a canary peep at it , and a chance to spill the beans to one of our best-loved Dollhouse stars . Point Dume is a made - up soap opera house about a residential district full of tawdry secret , in which foreign supernatural events are happening and the dead sometimes rise again . It ’s hilarious and tongue in nerve , with just the right amount of campiness and silliness — it did cue me a lot of Clue , actually . Here ’s the prescribed synopsis :
Something is hiding in the moneyed beach enclave of Point Dume . A dark closed book so so closelipped it could take at least five season to discover . When large city - boy Lazlo Wood returns home for his sire ’s funeral , his nosy questions imperil to fag up more than just a corpse . What on the nose is his stair - mother Ginabeth hide in the pantry ? What just is Professor Pyle injecting local children with ? And when exactly will Bron the Landscapist ever wear a shirt ? These and other mystery call to almost never be explained in this new recap show for the cracking nighttime soap opera house never discover , Point Dume .

Gjokaj play the “ Lothario landscapist , ” Ron , as well as Ron ’s nemesis / doppleganger , Bron . And indeed , he never wears a shirt , and the first segment let in full - on Enver - on - Enver action . “ They ’re kind of like enemies - stroke - weirdly draw to each other , because thye’re both complete egomaniac , ” explains Gjokaj . “ We ’ve got some bizarre thing design . ”
Every “ webisode ” will be a “ Previously On Point Dume ” style collection of clips from the previous episodes — and there ’ll never be a full - length installment , at least not for the foreseeable future . Instead , you ’ll see the soap - opera parody ’s storyline unfold through these short recaps .
“ I love easy lay , ” Gjokaj separate us . “ I always wanted to make one . ” But soap opera always have ridiculous storyline , with “ accidental incest and paternity issues , ” not to note characters dying and add up back all the metre , and that seemed mature for parody .

Gjokaj had been convey together with a group of friends and doing theater patch together in their spare clock time between act gig . “ Usually , we get hoi polloi together and get them drunk at a bar , and do something fun and just originative , ” he explicate . “ We decided this prison term around , alternatively of doing a theater piece , to do an internet musical composition . ” He adds :
We ’re in spades not Joss here , but I was inspire by Joss and by Felicia , the way they got out ahead of the ball on the cutting bound of controlling their content .
“ Mostly , it ’s just for merriment . We ’re just seek to have fun and stay creative ourselves , ” say Gjokaj . “ One of the voiceless things about being an player is , you have to wait until someone else read you’re able to make for . In order not to go insane , you have to have something , just on the side , that ’s light and fun and playful , and just an outlet , ” as controvert to eternal auditions .

So now Gjokaj and his collaborators will await and see if people care their “ recapitulation of actual episodes that do n’t live , ” before hopefully going on to shoot other ones . “ What I ’ve learned fool away this and learning to produce … is that it take a lot of work , ” says Gjokaj . But after making a lot of mistakes with greenscreen the first time around , his crew has learned a lot about how to do it well , and he cerebrate the next instalment will go a sight quicker . “ Going forward , we ’ve take so much , we ca n’t look to get back into the greenscreen , because we made things so much more difficult than they needed to be . It ’s really fun to puzzle out on greenscreen . It ’s tight , and you may get really easily throw some random picture into the background and see how it await . ”
“ If all go well , we ’ll storm up output pretty much immediately . ” He hopes to get the next four episodes / recapitulation shot in late May or former June .
One thing the Godhead of Point Dume were exigent up on was that the serial publication must have an actual plot of ground that makes sentience .

That was one of the things we agreed upon when we started doing this . A lot of us did n’t discover cyberspace sketches too laughable , because they tend to be so random all the metre . We want to flirt this a little bit straighter and a little bit more on - the - nose , and less over the top , even though over the top thing are happening … One of the things we are institutionalize up and satirizing on the show are thing like Lost , where it goes on forever . [ On Point Dume ] , there ’s always something crazy pass on , and we ’re not going to try out too hard to come up and explain it , because Lost certainly does n’t .
Sadly when Gjokaj tells people the serial publication is Twin Peaks meets Clue , “ to our insane angriness … nobody know either of those things . ” But he adds , “ if you do n’t know either of those , perchance it ’s just not for you . You ’re omit out anyway . You ’ve got grownup problems . ”
Meanwhile , Gjokaj is flash a guest blot on Lie To Me , where he has some state of war flashbacks , similar to the one in Dollhouse . He also has a movie called Stone coming up in May , where he play a vernal edition of Robert DeNiro ’s character in flashbacks . “ I ’m kind of looking for the next project , ” adds Gjokaj . “ It ’s really hard , after Joss , to retrieve a show you want to do . ” He ’s already turn down some projects because they did n’t seem like the right step after Dollhouse . “ Dollhouse was an astonishing experience for me . ”
