seem like we ’re not the onlypale blue Lucy in the sky with diamonds in the solar system . A newly turn image from NASA ’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter shows us that from way up high , our Curiosity wanderer is nothing more than a lonely , itty bittie blue speck amidst a ocean of red .

Captured on June 27 , 2013 , the scene depict the entirety of Curiosity ’s original landing site all the agency over to the “ Glenelg ” area , where it spent the first half of 2013 working diligently off . Considering the scale of the photo , the total area of scorched land at the Bradbury Landing site ( identifiable by its two bluish scour fall guy ) is pretty unbelievable .

From this pont on , Curiosity will venture on a 9 - calendar month journey southward , towards the low layers of Mount Sharp . So judge by the track marks and look at the relatively short length it ’s traveled so far , Curiosity ai n’t seen nothing yet . [ NASA ]
