We ’ve seen , learn , and read story that rede L. Frank Baum ’s Ozin every fashion imaginable . Well , almost every way . New Line Cinema just grease one’s palms a film pitch that sets a repulsion tale in the humanity of The Wizard of Oz .
The pitch was by screenwriter Mike Van Waes , according to the Hollywood Reporter , which broke the tale . There were no details beyond “ an original horror film set in the world of The Wizard of Oz ” but that certainly flips the vision on , does n’t it ?
Is it a motion-picture show about a gaggle of grampus flight monkeys ? A beldam who ca n’t be stopped and stalk her victims on a broomstick ? A ace who lures vernal Kansas women into his lair , only to savagely polish off them ? A king of beasts who at first appears cowardly , but then rips people to shreds ? A straw man who seems stupid , but really just lights on fire , burning the great unwashed ? A Tin Man who collects ticker ?
Hopefully , none of those thing . When and if we hear more about this idea , we ’ll let you be intimate .
