Avatar: The Way of WaterHeightens Tension by Focusing on Family Dynamics

In a mechanical press conference this workweek for embodiment : The direction of Water , James Cameronsaid that after revisiting the first film , he wanted to develop a sequel that would honorAvatarwhile pushing the universe forward . One way he did that was by takinginspirationfrom stars Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington . Cameron was immediate to tot on , state that “ you’re able to be fearless when you do n’t have kids , but you teach fear when you have child , when you have something greater than yourself that you could miss . And that ’s what both of your reference are cover with … You know , Sam plays a character that would leap off an [ Avatar creature ] leonopteryx , go flying through the air with no parachute , to land on the biggest , meanest predator on the planet , in ordering to clear his trouble . Would he do that as a father of four ? I ’m thinking probably not . ”
