John Carmack ’s Armadillo Aerospace has won the $ 350,000 Level One X - Prize Lunar Lander Challenge . As this video shows , their starship blast off the designated region , got up to 150 foot , and then hover for 90 second at that altitude to ground with absolute preciseness on a pad 150 feet away . And they did it double . Armadillo was also the first one to test the $ 1.65 million stage Two challenge , but unluckily crash badly on that attempt , as the next video shows .
