This mock - up for the Apple ‘ Asteroid ’ breakout corner designed to work seamlessly with GarageBand — a product which has n’t been announced , just rumorfied — is precious , but fails on two count . First , it ’s too busy for an Apple mathematical product , despite the inclusion of an iPod - like scroll steering wheel . Second , it just look like a small too much functionality for a $ 130 Cartesian product from Apple . If these rumors trash out and Apple does resign their own breakout loge , I count it will have a minimum of expensive ironware control when they could just as easily emulate such things in software system .
I ’m in the market , though , so I ’m root for this rumor . Not that I could n’t get a FireWire - found audio remark today — I’d just like to see what the Apple “ twist ” is going to be ( I hope it ’s not just , “ It ’s white-hot ! ” ) .
