The Adler Planetarium just renovated the Grainger Sky Theater with a crowing honking screen . The showing will mimic being in space with a 8,000 by 8,000 pixel sieve that ’s supposed to deliver “ the large undivided seamless digital persona in the world ” . For mention , typical movie screens ‘ only ’ spit out 2k by 4k pixel images .
The screen will be domiciliate in the planetarium ’s iconic dome and will make a 360 - level experience through special lighting , 20 separate projectors and 45 computers . The Adler Planetarium will be showing off ‘ Deep Space Adventure ’ on the screen , which will take viewers on a trip through our universe with image will be “ as good as the human optic can comprehend ” .
