Today , Marvel Comics released Legacy # 1 , the streamer book for its previous roll shakeup that lay the groundwork for what ’s to come for the Marvel comedian universe , on Earth , in the stars , and beyond . Here are all the teasers we saw in the book , and what they might mean for Marvel ’s mightiest Italian sandwich .
The Avengers of 1,000,000 BC United to Fight a Celestial…
One of the most intriguing aspects of Legacy teased before exit was the existence ofan ancient squad of Avengers — one that formed C of thousands of years before the original team did in the ‘ 60s . Despite the contemporary Starbrand ’s best , most violent attempts to keep the posterity of the ancient Avengers away from the Celestial ’s body , they observe themselves suddenly , funnily draw to it .
Doctor Strange and Danny Rand both mention to each other weird dream of their past selves fighting an immense threat . But it ’s Robbie Reyes , the current Ghost Rider , who winds up the closest to the Celestial , after waking up in South Africa with no memory of how he get there . Robbie never in reality makes middleman with the Celestial , though . The modern Starbrand stops him , although Robbie accidentally kills Starbrand during their brawl with the Penance Stare , a power Robbie has never had before , but was once in the repertoire of previous Ghost Riders like Johnny Blaze .
Loki Is Planning Something Big
While none of the descendants of the ancient Avengers reach the Celestial ’s grave , someone does . betimes on in the issue , Loki task some of his fellow Frost Giants with retrieve an token from Midgard , one conceal in SHIELD ’s archives but not on their records . The Frost Giants go wrong in their mission , lead to Loki to go to his “ plan B”—seeking out the Celestial in South Africa . It seems like the case of Secret Empire were the last stubble for the powers that be . At several points in Legacy characters observe that SHIELD is being shut down , its archives being turned over to the military machine , and its agents force to renounce . Nothing ’s state about a similar office rising up to take its piazza , but either a rebirth of SHIELD or a young organisation like it seems inevitable .
Tony Stark Is Missing
call back how Civil War II end with Tony Stark “ break down , ” and by “ dying ” we mean “ going into a coma because no one ever die in a superhero comic ” ? Well , considering that Tony repeatedly showed up in Secret Empire as a hologram , it does n’t really find like he ’s been gone , but now we know he ’s really back , as Mary Jane Watson — who is ladder Stark Industries in Tony ’s absence seizure — finds Tony ’s coma - chamber suddenly empty .
No one eff where Tony is , and we do n’t actually see him awaken . But the next bow of Invincible Iron Man is address “ The Search for Tony Stark , ” so we know Riri is in all likelihood going to go hunting for her mentor soon enough .
Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm Are Re-Starting the Fantastic Four, Sort of
Since Reed , Sue , and their child go off torebuild the Marvel multiverseat the death of Secret Wars , Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm have been floating between superteams , and apart from each other — the wounds of the Fantastic Four ’s absence too corking for them to stick out . But time has change , and the duo seem to have realized the worldly concern needs the Fantastic Four again … even if it ’s really just the Fantastic Two .
We know Johnny and Ben are re - team up forthe new Marvel Two - in - One series , but it seems the veridical reason why is that they desire to cue the world of who the Fantastic Four was , with the Leslie Townes Hope that one day it might arise again — especially given that they foretell their reunification by firing a “ 4″-shaped flare into the sky over New York .
The Original Wolverine is Back, and He Has an Infinity Stone

Now that he ’s back and dear and not a fascist again ( give thanks God ) , he ’s look at some time to ponder on what the cosmos think of him — but he ’s doing it out of the spotlight . We briefly meet Steve in a dining compartment somewhere , shield hidden in his bag , annul the news that ponders just where the the pits Steve Rogers is right now .
We already acknowledge that the newfangled Captain America book is going to take Steve on a tour across the US — how very Superman of him!—to see what the average citizen thinks of Captain America in the wake of Secret Empire . But now we know he ’s doing it while put down low .
Deadpool Is Trying to Repent for His Sins
Secret Empire was unvoiced on a lot of people , but Deadpool may have been one of its most tragic victims — so wholly trusting of Captain America that he was uncoerced to do anything , even stamp out Phil Coulson and becoming a Hydra agent , just because Steve Rogers tell him it was the right-hand affair to do .
The rise of Hydra and Steve ’s double-dealing has taken a real big toll on Deadpool . Even as he ’s hunted for the execution of Coulson , he ’s not the jokester you ’d typically expect him to be , apparently accept of the error he ’s made over the years . How long this ruthful mode last , however , remains to be see ; the next electric arc of Deadpool promise to push Wade back from the anti - grinder his been for the past few year intosomething much more villainousagain .
Oh, Black Panther Has an Intergalactic Space Empire Now
As you may see above , Legacy # 1 is jam - pack with asides that tease new paths for some of Marvel ’s most iconic heroes . But the weirdest and most out there of all in the book is a single splash Sir Frederick Handley Page with zero setting , one that take us to a far away headliner system and to the Planet Bast … or specifically Birnin T’Challa , line as the throneworld of the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda .
That ’s it . That ’s literally all we get to know , but yes . Somehow , out of nowhere , Black Panther has gone and gotten himself a quad empire . Complete with Black Panther soldiers and alien citizen and rad - sounding spaceships . It ’s pretty dang great .
The Richards Family Are Slowly But Surely Making Their Way Home
Legacy # 1 saves its expectant tease for its last pages , which expose that the ever - present teller in the issue — an omniscient voice that has been reflect the signification of legacy and what it mean to intend about the future — is none other than Valeria Richards , the daughter of Reed and Sue , thinking not just of her hereafter , but also the futures of all the heroes in the Marvel Universe .
But Valeria is n’t just thinking about that as she go bad off with her parents and sidekick to reconstruct the world . She reveals her desire to get back to her home world and explore that , alongside her category and their old friend . She but say the audience that they ’re on their way back , with a vague implication that it ’ll be in the near future . It ’s not a full on verification , but by from Johnny and Ben ’s efforts back on Earth , the return of the Fantastic Four is no longer an “ if ” at Marvel — with Legacy , it ’s a matter of “ when . ”
