My female parent affect as if to pick me up , but my Church Father touched her articulatio humeri and instead she took a pace back .
I lay still after that , with An ’s hand upon me , and the two of us looking upon each other , him so old , and me so fresh . He pushed his hand down on me a little heavier , smiling as he did it , but he could not make me bleat again .
‘ She ’s unassailable , ’ he said , his eyes on me , ‘ but strange too . ’
My father add up nearer . ‘ I see the Earthlight work on her , ’ he say . ‘ Changing her . ’
‘ I can not feed her , ’ my mother enounce . ‘ But she is prehensile for human milk . ’
At this I excite beneath An ’s hand , turning my nous in hope of my nanny .
‘ A child of two realms , ’ An said . ‘ Two realms , and two peoples . ’ He break a moment and then he said : ‘ What did you do , to have her ? ’
He was look at me , but behind him , my female parent became entirely still , a statue carved from easy physical body .
‘ What do you mean , grandad ? ’ she said , her voice very instinctive . ‘ We only did the rites in temple , as we always do . ’
‘ We have been in this kingdom for four hundred year , and produced no Anunnaki babies , ’ An pronounce . ‘ We make deathly babies , and half divinity , and babies we can not find names for . But never an Anunnaki . And now of a sudden here one is . ’
‘ We did nothing that we have not always done , ’ my Church Father allege , most earnest .
