As part of Star Wars Celebration last hebdomad , Sideshow Collectibles reached out to over 90 creative person , designers , and ally with a wide-eyed task : take the company’snew sixth - scale R2 - D2 figureandreimagine the astromech droidin uncanny and wonderful ways .
The result of theR2 - ME2 projectare sometimes hilarious , sometimes scary , and sometimes fantastically clever as the various artists drew on daddy refinement consultation , substitute career way of life , and even the Star Wars universe itself . In the Star Wars movies it seemed like there was nothing R2 - D2 could n’t do , and that sentiment is in spades mirror with these . Here are some of our favorites :
