When Iver Johnson furcate out into bike production in 1907 , its bike card consisted of conventional singles and V - Gemini the Twins , though many finer points of the machines disagree from normal practice .
Most noticeable was Iver Johnson ’s use of dual curving upper framing electron tube outline the fuel tank that sat between them .
Front suspensions were a chair link / leaf spring design interchangeable in concept to Indian ’s , though the latter had a trailing link . Some Iver Johnson models used theengineas a distressed skeletal system member , and a few even offered a swingarm rear suspension .
Though Iver Johnson ’s V - twin was strange in being a flathead design ( Indians andHarley - Davidsonsof the meter were intake over exhaust ) , it was also a beautiful patch of work that unfortunately incorporated such characteristic as an in an elaborate way curve intake manifold that did n’t assist in the production ofhorsepower .
As a result , despite displacing 1020 cubic centimeter , it was n’t particularly potent compared with other five - twins . That sure enough did n’t avail Iver Johnson ’s status among power - hungry riders .
At the end of the 1916 model class , the company abandoned motorcycles to concentrate on its firearm line , which continues to this day .
